CMWSSB (Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board), also called Chennai Metro Water, is responsible for water supply and sewerage services across Chennai city and its suburban areas including Tambaram, Avadi, Sholinganallur and other localities within the Chennai Metropolitan Area.
Common complaints include no water supply, low pressure, contaminated or discoloured water, pipeline burst or leakage, sewer overflow or blockage, water meter issues and water billing disputes.
To file a complaint, call 1916 (national water helpline, toll-free, 24/7) or the Chennai Metro Water toll-free number 1800-425-4369. Email info@chennaimetrowater.tn.gov.in with your Consumer Number (on your water bill), address with zone and district name, and a description of the problem. Note the complaint reference number.
CMWSSB operates under the Government of Tamil Nadu.
