MESCOM (Mangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited) is the electricity distribution company for Coastal and Malnad Karnataka, covering Mangaluru, Udupi, Shivamogga (Shimoga), Chikkamagaluru and Kodagu (Coorg) districts.
Karnataka has five electricity distributors. For Bengaluru, visit <a href="https://www.complaintmitra.in/en/support-directory/electricity-bescom-bengaluru-complaint" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">BESCOM</a>. For North Karnataka (Kalaburagi), it is GESCOM. For Northwest Karnataka (Hubli-Dharwad), it is HESCOM.
To file a complaint, call 1912 (24 hours). For billing disputes and written complaints, use the grievance section at <a href="https://www.mescom.org" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">mescom.org</a>. Provide your RR Number (service connection number on your electricity bill), address, sub-division name and a description of the issue. Note the complaint reference number.
MESCOM is regulated by <a href="https://kerc.kar.nic.in" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">KERC (Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission)</a>. Billing dispute responses are due within 15 days. Power restoration timelines are 4 hours for urban areas and 8 hours for rural areas under KERC norms.
If MESCOM does not resolve satisfactorily, approach the MESCOM Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum (CGRF) at mescom.org. Further escalation is to KERC at kerc.kar.nic.in.
